Revised date for the Ultimate Judo Open

Judo Scotland has announced revised dates for the postponed Ultimate Judo Open.

The competition will now be held on 13 February 2011. The venue (Meadowbank Leisure Centre) and weigh-in times remain the same. Judo Scotland will send a reminder e-mail closer to the date. All entries will be automatically transferred to the “new” competition.

Ultimate Judo Open postponed due to the current weather conditions

Judo Scotland has announced that the Ultimate Open competition due to be held in Edinburgh at the weekend (11 December 2010) has been postponed owing to the current weather conditions.

Here is the full announcement:

JudoScotland and Ultimate Judo regrettably inform you that the Ultimate Judo Open 2010 has been postponed.

Due to the bad weather and travel conditions many volunteers were unable to attend on Saturday leaving us with no alternative but to move the event into 2011. You will be contacted with full details of the rescheduled event, all entries and fees will be held by JudoScotland and transferred automatically into the rearranged competition.

JudoScotland and Ultimate Judo apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and look forward to you competing in the New Year.

Please note that the Erskine Training session scheduled for 1830 07/12/2010 has been cancelled owing to the severe weather conditions.

Severe weather conditions – Training cancelled 03/12/2010

Please note that the Bishopton Training session scheduled for 1800 03/12/2010 has been cancelled owing to the severe weather conditions.

Balfron U10 Groundwork Competition – Severe weather

Please note that Clyde Judo Club will not be attending the Balfron U10 Groundwork competition. This is due to the severe weather conditions making it unsafe to travel.

Apologies for the short notice.

Time change for the Balfron U10 groundwork competition

Please note that the start time for the U10 groundwork competition at Balfron has changed to 1400hrs on 28 November 2010.

The convoy from Bishopton Scout Hall will now start at 1230hrs.

28 November 2010 – Training session cancelled

The training session on Sunday 28 November 2010 has been cancelled as the bulk of the club will be attending the U10 groundwork competition at Balfron

Under-10 groundwork competition – 28 November 2010 Balfron High School

There will be an Under-10 groundwork competition held at Balfron High School on Sunday 28 November 2010.

The competition starts at 1300hrs 1400hrs and should run until sometime between 1600-1700.

This is a fun competition for the younger children that is focussed on groundwork. There will be a mixture of competition and play. It is an excellent introduction to competition.

Please come along if you can manage it. The entry fee is £7.50.

European Judo for all Championships, Baarlo (Netherlands)

Congratulations to Andrew Smith, one of the senior members of the club. He took Gold in the European Judo for all Championships held in Baarlo in the Netherlands. The whole SN team did very well. Further details on the Scottish SN Judo web site

Granite City Open 2010 results

All of the children put on a fine show yesterday and brought home a good selection of medals.

Congratulations to Rachel Towle and Kathryn Meenan who both won Gold in their respective categories.
