2017 Matsumae Cup results

Three Clyde Judo judoka were selected by Judo Scotland to compete in the Matsumae Cup and achieved the following results:

  • Christopher Love – U18 U66kg – 5th
  • Christopher Love – U21 U66kg – 7th
  • Connor Wilson – U18 U60kg – 5th
  • Connor Wilson – U21 U60kg -7th
  • Louis Saez – U18 U90kg – Gold

Great results in a very tough competition.

Louis’s Gold was one of 15 medals that the Judo Scotland team brought home and what a great medal to bring home!

Training at Bishopton on Friday 17/02/2017 cancelled.

Apologies for the late notice but the training session at Bishopton Scout Hall on Friday 17/02/2017 has been cancelled.

There is a Cluster Club session on Sunday 19/02/2017 at Bishopton Scout Hall between 10am and 12noon.

The Cluster Club sessions are always a great opportunity to experience Judo as practised in other clubs so please try an attend if you can.

Clyde Judo judoka selected for the Matsumae Cup & Camp

Three Clyde Judo judoka have been selected by Judo Scotland to compete in the Matsumae Cup and attend the following training camp.

The competition is held in Vejle,Denmark and is a major international tournament.

The training camp will be supported by Tokai University and will be a tremendous experience for the attendees.

The Clyde Judo selections are:

  • Christopher Love
  • Connor Wilson
  • Louis Saez

All have been selected on the basis of their recent performances – Well done!

2017 English Open for Pre-Cadets and Cadets – results

The 2017 English Open for Pre-Cadets and Cadets was held at   Breckland Leisure Centre in Thetford, Norfolk on 04/02/2017.

The club results were:

  • Katelyn Cox – Pre-Cadet U52kg – Gold
  • David Sommerville – Pre-Cadet U55kg – Bronze
  • Connor Wilson Cadet U60kg – Bronze
  • Christopher Love Cadet U66kg – Silver
  • Benedict MacLennan-Patton Cadet U81kg – 5th
  • Louis Saez – Cadet U90kg – Bronze

These were great results in a very tough competition and we also saw some very fine individual performances for those who didn’t manage to get a placing.
