Announcing the retirement of the “Purple Belt of Shame” – in support of breast cancer research

An old friend has announced its retirement – the Purple Belt of Shame is no more.

For those of you who have never forgotten your belt, the Purple Belt of Shame is the spare belt kept for those miscreants who forget to bring their belt to training sessions.

The Purple Belt of Shame has now been replaced by the Pink Belt of Shame.

Other than the colour (and the fact that the belts now come in three sizes), the main difference is that the pink ones are embroidered to show support for breast cancer research, and there is now a voluntary financial penalty for coming to training without a correctly-coloured belt.

For all Juniors (AA, A,B & C band) the donation is £1.

For Seniors (including coaches!), the donation is £3.

All proceeds go to breast cancer research.

Please be generous and forget your kit on a regular basis!
