Susie sat and passed her first level Competition Controllers award at the British Schools Championship.
She is now a Provisional Competition Controller.
As mentioned last week, a small team from Clyde Judo Club attended the Head Masters Conference Independent Schools Boys Judo Tournament on behalf of their schools and did the club and their schools proud.

‘Spirit of Judo’ 2012
This year the award goes to Kyle Watt for perseverance and commitment in managing the difficult transition from AA to A band.
Player of the Year 2012
This year the award goes to Rachel Towle for excellence in competition with some outstanding results, including winning:

This is a joint award to Connor Wilson and Christopher Love for dedication in training and excellence in performance.
Best Junior Female 2012
Erin Peden for excellence in competition.
Best Under-8 Player 2012
Rachel Lamb.
For tenacity and determination.
Best Single Performance 2012
Rebecca Lamb.
Rebecca wins this for her performance at the Granite City Open Grand Prix event where she had to fight well out of her weight category and gave much more experienced and significantly heavier girls a run for their money.
Best Technician 2012
Rachel Melvin.
For demonstrating a good grasp of theory and stylish Judo throughout the year.
Contribution to Judo – Coaching 2012
Marcus Ray.
Marcus has made a real difference at the club this year, particularly assisting in the training of the younger Judoka.

Louis Saez for demonstrating greatly improved technique and turning that into competition success.

The competition will be held on Sunday 5th May 2013 and the closing date for entries is Monday 29th April 2013 or when the maximum entry of 275 has been reached.

A number of people were disappointed recently when a major competition closed three weeks early, so don’t delay! It takes only five minutes to enter online.

Only last month, Kathryn Meenan took Gold at the HMC Independent Schools Girls Judo Tournament, so judoka from Clyde Judo Club have done very well at these competitions this year.
