Judo cancelled Friday 1st March and 8th March 2013

Please note that the training sessions at Bishopton on Friday 1st March and 8th March 2013 have been cancelled.

An excellent result in an extremely tough competition.

West of Scotland collaborative club training sessions

A number of West of Scotland Judo clubs (including Clyde Judo!) are running  pre-competition sessions for AA-band (born 2003 or 2004) and A-band (born 2001, 2002) judoka who attend or are interested in attending competition and are not currently part of the Judo Scotland Talent development programme (for the A-bands).

These are friendly “get to know each other” sessions so that the younger judoka can make friends with judoka from other clubs. The aim is to ease the transition into competition so that there are some familiar faces when they turn up at competitions.

Working with judoka from other clubs and a variety of coaches also broadens their experience of Judo. They are also great fun for all so please make every effort to attend. Attending doesn’t mean you have to go to competitions!

The next session will be on Sunday 10th February 2013 at Holyrood Sports Centre in the South side of Glasgow. The session will be between 1pm and 3pm. Remember to bring water!

A-band judoka on the Judo Scotland Talent Development Programme and older judoka (B-band and up) should attend for the usual session at Bishopton.

The post code for your Sat-Nav is G42 0PD (probably best to approach via Dixon Road).

Please let Susie know if you have any questions about the session.

Invitation from Glasgow University Judo Club – Open Day 2nd March 2013

Glasgow University Judo Club has invited us (and clubs from all over the West of Scotland) to an Open Day in the Kelvin Hall on Saturday 2nd March 2013.

As a certain Clyde Judo coach is also Head Coach at Glasgow University Judo Club, we really should make an effort to attend!

The Glasgow University Judo Club would like to invite you and your students to attend our training day as a celebration of the club’s 60th Anniversary.

On the 2nd March 2013, the club will be hosting a training day for clubs from all over West of Scotland. The event is open to ages 10 and above, and will run from 10 to 12pm, in Kelvin Hall. This event allows young judokas to have fun and train with a university club, and other clubs from the west of Scotland, for a modest amount of £2 per person.

Hope to see you there.

If you have any questions about this event then please speak to one of the coaches.

This type of event is usually great fun for the kids and well worth the trip into Glasgow.
