Just a quick reminder – the closing date for Granite City Open entries is the 2nd of November 2012.
Online entry is available so there’s no excuse for not getting that entry in tonight!
Yesterday (27th October 2012) we were visiting Larkhall for the Habari Kan Junior Open and the children were in very fine form, bringing home nine Golds, a Silver and five Bronze medals.
A really great set of results. Well done to all of you!
The individual results were as follows:
Our good friends Ceres and Ezri Bradley of WBJC picked up a Bronze in AA and A U32kg respectively.
Thanks go to Habari Kan Judo Club for a well run and enjoyable competition.
As the Scouts need to use Bishopton Scout Hall early tomorrow evening, there will be a late start to training tomorrow (Friday 26th October 2012) at Bishopton.
Training on Friday 26th October 2012 will start at 7pm and run until 830pm.
Apologies for the late notice.
The Club will be holding its Christmas Party Ceilidh on Saturday 15th December 2012.
For those who have not previously attended a Clyde Judo Club Christmas Party, the evening will be a mix of Ceilidh led by the ever popular Ian Samuel (returning by popular demand), games and the Annual Award Ceremony.
We look forward to seeing you.
As some of you already know, Clyde Judo Club has been awarded a grant by Awards for All Scotland to buy 104 Judo mats, two crash mats, a set of portable mats, a trolley for moving all these mats around and permanent first aid equipment.
This award will make a real difference to the club in a number of areas:
A number of people worked very hard on preparing the grant application and making sure that the club met all the prerequisites for a grant award – Thank you!
And thanks go to Awards for All Scotland.
You might like to drop them a small note of thanks at Awards for All Scotland! The grant makes a huge difference for the club and our kids.
Here are some of the new mats:
Trying to arrange a photograph of the club members on the new mats seemed like a good idea. Picking the Sunday of the October school holidays to take the photo wasn’t such a good idea but that’s the only photo I have!
Congratulations to Rachel Towle who has won Gold in the 2012 B band U32kg British Championship.
An excellent result in a major competition.
Susie sent us some pictures of Rachel on the podium and with Britain’s Judo Olympic Silver medallist Gemma Gibbon.
Just a reminder that the closing date for Habarikan Junior Open 2012 entries is almost upon us.
As of last weekend, there were only five entries from Clyde Judo Club.
This is a great competition right in our back yard. We should be going there mob-handed.
There’s no online entry for this competition so please do not delay. Get those entry forms in now!
You can get the entry form here.
