Clyde Rumble 2012 – Sunday, 17th June 2012

Clyde Rumble 2012 – Sunday, 17th June 2012

Clyde Judo Club is pleased to announce the Clyde Rumble 2012 competition.

This is going to be a Red and Yellow-belt only competition for beginners and less experienced Judoka.

If you’ve never considered entering a competition before then this is the competition for you. You’ll be up against other Judoka of broadly similar skill levels even if you are a relative beginner.

We hope that you’ll enter and give competition a try.

The Judo Scotland Events Calendar page for the competition is here.

The competition will be held at Erskine Community Sports Centre on Sunday, 17th June 2012.

We’ve set up a dedicated page for the competition so that you’ll only have to look in one place for all the latest information on the competition.

You can download the entry form from the Judo Scotland web site or from this web site in a number of common document formats:

If you are planning to take any photographs at the Clyde Rumble, please can you print off and take the completed photography consent form with you to the event.

If you have any questions about the competition then please let us know.

Highland Region Open Championships Results

It was an early start for most yesterday morning in order to get to Fort William for the Highland Region Open Championships but that doesn’t seem to have caused the children any problems because they came home with a good set of results:

  • Kyle Watt U12 U30kg – Silver
  • Connor Wilson U12 U34kg – Gold
  • Christopher Love U12 U42kg – Gold
  • Rachel Towle  U16 U32kg – Gold
  • Benedict Ray U16 U50kg – Bronze
  • Marcus Ray U16 U55kg – Bronze

Excellent results – well done all of you!

Iain Wilson has kindly provided us with a photo of all of the Clyde Judo winners together.

Well done!

Sportif International Results

Hot off the press come the results from the Sportif International competition in Edinburgh held on Sunday 8th April 2012.

For various reasons, the club’s entry for this competition was quite small. Three medals from four entries is a very good result in a competition that attracts an international entry.

  • Connor Willson – A-band U34kg Silver
  • Christopher Love – A-band U42kg Bronze
  • Marcus Ray – B-band U55kg Bronze

Well done!

Free Level 1 Technical Officials Training for 12-18 year olds

As part of its Young Volunteer initiative, Judo Scotland is once again running Level 1 Technical Officials Training for 12-18 year olds.

This is a great opportunity to get further involved in Judo and, once qualified, there are free sweets and the best seats in the house at competitions. Who could resist an offer like that?

If you are interested then go to the Judo Scotland page and sign up. It’s a great opportunity to give something back to Judo.

Training times over the Easter holidays

Just for information : For those of you who attend the Judo session at Palace of Arts on the Monday, please note that the session on Monday 9th April 2012 has been cancelled.
